Dry Van
A dry van trailer, a box on wheels, handles dry freight like boxed items, palleted materials, and retail goods. Dry vans typically haul up to 45,000 lbs and measure 48 to 53 feet long.
Reefer
Reefers are insulated trailers with a front-mounted refrigeration unit. They range from 48 to 53 feet long, maintaining temperatures from -13°F to 77°F, and handle frozen, chilled, or cold goods with a 55,000 lbs load capacity.
Flatbed
Flatbed trucks have a flat, open body for easy loading of heavy, wide loads. They typically measure 48 to 53 feet long and carry around 45,000 pounds, sometimes exceeding 80,000 pounds.
Step/Drop Deck
Step deck trailers carry tall cargo without special permits. They have lower and upper decks for flexible loading. Max freight weight: 48,000 pounds. Lengths: 48-53 feet. Width: 8.5 feet.
Hot Shot
Hotshot trucks are designed for quick deliveries of smaller loads. They typically pull flatbed or other trailers ranging from 30 to 40 feet long and can haul 10,000 to 26,000 lbs.
Power Only
Power-only trucking: A carrier provides only a driver and a tractor to haul a 3-party or shipper-owned trailer. Higher earnings from more loads, especially on urban routes. Drivers set their own schedules and choose their loads.
Box Truck
Box trucks, also known as cube trucks or vans, range from 16 to 26 feet long and can carry up to 10,000 lbs. They ensure the safe and secure transportation of goods across country.
Conestoga
Conestoga trucks offer the best of both dry vans and flatbeds. They allow for quick loading and unloading from the sides or the top, making them perfect for oversized loads. Plus, they protect cargo from weather conditions.
Low Boy
Lowboy Semi Trailers: With a low ride height, these trailers efficiently carry taller loads under bridges, street lights, and powerlines. They measure 48 to 53 feet in length and commonly handle 35 to 60 tons.
